DIVERSE IN PRACTICE: EMPLOYMENT + LABOR

MoFo’s Employment + Labor Group is a powerful combination of some of the world’s top counselors, litigators, and trial lawyers dedicated to their clients’ most important asset: their people. Located across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, MoFo’s Employment + Labor lawyers bring their deep understanding of the complexities of employment law to address their clients’ most urgent business needs. Whether helping global public companies or small startups, they do so with an understanding that personal relationships between an employer and its employees are the driving force behind a thriving workplace.

Clients rely on MoFo’s Employment + Labor team to get the best results, even when faced with high-stakes employment disputes that cannot be easily resolved, while aiming to avoid litigation at any cost. The team is continually focused on finding solutions that are good for both the client and its workers, whether that is helping protect trade secrets, responding to whistleblower claims, or counseling on sensitive HR issues.

This dynamic group is no stranger to recognition by top legal publications and rankings, such as Legal 500 US, U.S. NewsBest Lawyers® Best Law Firms, and Chambers USA. In addition to the group rankings, a number of individuals on the team are consistently recognized and recommended as top employment and labor lawyers, locally and globally. The group’s co-chairs, Tritia Murata and Eric Akira Tate, are among them and have set the tone for excellence in the profession and within their team.

The Los Angeles Business Journal recognized Tritia for her commitment to diversity and inclusion and excellence in her practice area, naming her a 2021 Minority Leader of Influence. Additionally, she is a member of Morrison & Foerster’s Women’s Strategy Committee and is the founder and partner sponsor of the Los Angeles office’s Working Parents Affinity Group.

Eric has been a powerful advocate for allyship within the firm and broader legal community, speaking on a panel hosted by the Justice & Diversity Center (JDC) of the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF), titled “Stepping Up for Justice and Being a Good Ally.” He has also taken part in the firm’s allyship awareness campaigns, including a podcast episode with our diverse Wetmore Fellows to actively engage in dialogue around racial equity. He was also elected to be a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment lawyers, recognizing his outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence.
