What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
International Women’s Day is a day of reflection. It is a day to give thought to the great progress in women’s rights and equality that has been made to date, including celebrating the women who have contributed to this progress and appreciating the opportunities we have today because of it.
It is also a day to consider the work that remains to be done to achieve true equality. It is important to take a step back from our busy lives to think about these important societal goals, and International Women’s Day gives us all a chance to do that.
Describe a way that you’ve seen a colleague at MoFo press for progress.
There are so many examples of my colleagues pressing for progress, but I don’t want to call out any one example or person because that would give the impression that taking steps for progress in equality is somehow singular.
This is not the reality I have experienced at MoFo. Everyone I have encountered has been encouraging, supportive of, and pushing for this progress. This environment is something that should be celebrated and appreciated.
What woman most inspires you, and why?
This is probably a common response, but my mom inspires me the most. She has somehow been able to do everything, including building multiple successful careers outside the home, nurturing her family the way only a mother can, and everything in between. This is a balance I think many women are trying to achieve, and she did an amazing job of it.
