Bita Rahebi is a trial-experienced litigation partner, based in our Los Angeles office. Clients turn to her for her proactive approach and strategic direction leading complex, high-stakes litigation matters, with a particular focus on intellectual property. She has litigated a wide range of high-technology matters involving semiconductors, software, consumer electronics, and medical devices for U.S. and non-U.S. clients in U.S. district courts and before the International Trade Commission.
- In two to three sentences, describe your practice. I am a trial lawyer, helping companies defend and assert their technology-related intellectual property in trial court and ITC litigation. From developers of cutting-edge technologies to iconic global brands, my clients are among the most exciting companies in the world.
- How do you give back to your local community? I stay involved in the local community through my involvement with the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association. I co-founded the Women in IP committee of the LAIPLA, and we hold dynamic events that help promote the professional development and networking of female attorneys in IP. In addition, I serve as the board liaison to the Diversity Fellowship Committee. Each year, the LAIPLA recruits a company in the Los Angeles area to host a law school intern from a diverse background for the summer. The law students are afforded the unique opportunity of working in-house during law school and making long-lasting connections.
- What do you like best about your work? The clients — plain and simple. Every day, I have the opportunity to work with the most exciting companies in the world, some of the brightest legal and business minds, and challenging, complex legal cases.
- How do clients benefit from having diverse teams of lawyers working for them? Diversity is what drives innovative approaches and creative results. At Morrison & Foerster, our focus on diversity means we draw the most talented lawyers from across different experiences, who come together to develop novel approaches to IP litigation. We don’t subscribe to a one-size-fits-all approach, but rather explore every perspective and avenue to solving our clients’ problems. I believe that such diversity yields the best results for our clients.
