Marcia Ellis is a partner in MoFo’s Hong Kong office. She advises clients on private equity and real estate transactions and complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions in Asia.

What do you love about your work?

I like working on new and complex issues and structuring around the regulatory roadblocks to investments that many Asian regimes create.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy studying Torah, going to plays with my children, and teaching a course in Jewish ethics at the Hong Kong Jewish Community Center.

Why did you become a lawyer?

I intended to become an anthropologist but became interested in law while doing anthropological fieldwork focusing on Filipina domestic workers in Taipei.
